APB Shuts Down

Realtime Worlds community officer Ben Bateman just popped on the APB Official Forums to present this sad bit of news: The game is shutting down for good. In his statement, Bateman says, "APB has been a fantastic journey, but unfortunately that journey has come to a premature end."

Apparently the servers are still up for the time being, so if you've got the game, you're encouraged to hop in and pour one out for Realtime Worlds' gangsta-sim. We've just got one question: what happens to all of those "Realtime Points" consumers have purchased with their real-world money?

Shortest launch to server shutdown of an MMO? Realtime Worlds hit major financial difficulty. But to have all that work by so many talented people wiped out - a shame.

I have no idea what APB even is.

A shame indeed. I played it in the beta. It had a lot of flaws, but was a cool game, in my opinion. The customization was out of this world. It was just simple fun driving around and running into things lol

Edit: APB was a MMO I guess you could say. A lot of people referred to it as Grand Theft Auto online.
