Very Bad Things

This is an "old" movie (late 90s) but I didn't see a thread, so here goes.

This is not so much a review as it is a warning. The title is literal. The movie is full of very bad things. By "bad" I mean "terrible". Terrible like watching a litter of puppies get crushed by a steamroller (assuming you like puppies). Terrible like Requiem for a Dream. I saw the movie when it came out, I knew it was bad, and yet I decided to watch it again anyways. Big mistake. It's labelled as a black comedy, but only Satan would find this movie funny. Maybe not even him.

It's got Cameron Diaz - who, ironically, I hate less than usual in this movie - playing the control freak megabitch bride-to-be, Christian Slater as the groom's slimy real estate agent best friend, and some dudes you'd recognize in the other roles.

At the bachelor party, they accidentally kill a hooker. Bad stuff happens. Lots of people die. Everyone else (except Cameron Diaz) ends up crippled - even their dog.

Take extra Prozac before watching this one. You'll need it.

The preview I saw tries to sell it as a dark comedy, like Heathers or something. Not so much, I guess?

I actually just read an article about movies whose trailers are very misleading - this one popped up. Looked like a comedy at the time, but when Mike saw it, he came back and was like, 'It is not funny."

What!?

Maybe I am a sicko, but I love this movie.

When i went and saw the Hangover I was pissed that it was a watered down version of Very Bad Things. It's totally a dark comedy and your mouth drops to the floor a couple times but I don't think it's Requiem of a Dream depressing.

I'm worse than Satan =(

Yeah I watched that movie, but when it got to the hooker part, I knew it was all down hill from there. I didn't find it amusing in the least, and it was just kind of stupid over all, and, as stated, full of just terribleness

meh, it could very well be depicted as a comedy - however, what is funny to some people wont be funny to others.

The only funny part was the final scene... the rest... not funny.
