Comrade Hero Needs Your Vote
in the Create a Superhero for the Stan Lee Foundation
The Comrade Hero Project.
Since 2008 I've been working on the manuscript of my Comrade Hero Project. I completed my Diploma in Creative writing in December, 2010.
I decided to carry on in 2011 print and digital publication of my Project, with the main aim to secure funding through the various Government Agencies here in New Zealand.
My goal is to create, produce, and promote Comrade Hero, a superhero comic book and graphic novel.
The aim is to promote literacy skills development and encourage Maori language exposure through the Comrade Hero series - providing an engaging, entertaining and interactive reading and listening experience.
The Comrade Hero series will initially be published English and Te Reo Maori, but will have the capability to support additional languages.
Create a Superhero for the Stan Lee Foundation
In January, 2011 I decided to enter my superhero creation Comrade Hero into the Create a Superhero for the Stan Lee Foundation on Talenthouse. Voting finally starts tomorrow and I would appreciate your supporting vote for my original creation.
The Winning Entry will receive the following:
Talenthouse will facilitate introductions for the winning designer with the film and television studios and social gaming industries. The selected design will be made into either an action figure or sculpture of which The Stan Lee Foundation will make a limited number to give away to specific donors of the Foundation.
The winner will also be presented with an award by Stan Lee at Comic-Con San Diego 2011 and will spend a day with Todd McFarlane at his art studio production facility, Todd McFarlane Entertainment, Inc in Tempe, AZ. Travel and accommodation to San Diego and Tempe, plus tickets to Comic-Con will be provided for the winner.

Can I vote using Facebook and then uninstall the app? I don't want that crap spamming my wall

Definitely - vote then uninstall, and thanks for your feedback. That's something I can add to the post analysis. I'm using this Creative Invite as part of the market/promotion research I need to complete for contestable arts funding. Identifying barriers and turnoffs like this is all part of it.

It seems to have worked. The vote count you need for the Top 50 went from 61 to 60, and my face appeared on the "Recent voters" thing. I went to Facebook, uninstalled the app, and checked to make sure it didn't remove my vote. The number is still at 60 and my face is still there. What's more, apparently I can now vote again... but I'm not going to try it, because I don't want to get you disqualified or anything, and that's just not my style :P

I was contacted by Talenthouse on Friday who informed me that Comrade Hero was amongst the top 100 highest voted submissions in the Stan Lee Foundation and Todd McFarlane creative invite.
As a result of your support, a shiny new set of Prismacolor Premier Illustration markers will be sent to me.
