1. Does it have to be a photo manipulation? Or can some of it be freehand or screenshot?
The idea of the assignment is to make the creature look believable. To make it look so real that it looks like someone had taken a picture of a real animal. However, since for our purposes it's just for fun and is not a contest, I see no reason why we can't adlib a bit for the sake of entertainment if you have something particularly cool to share.
2. Will this work like NS where there will be a turn in thread? Or do we PM our entries to you?
There will be a turn in thread. However if you wish your entry to be anonymous for some reason, feel free to PM it to me saying so
