Okay, normally I don't watch romance movies, but hey! This one had a hot chick on the poster, was about an artist, and just generally looked interesting. Also, it was free to watch online with my Amazon Prime subscription. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

It's about an artist (the captain of the quidditch team from the first few Harry Potter movies), who breaks up with his girlfriend and develops insomnia. He is able to freeze time (when you don't sleep for 2 weeks, the hallucinations kick in I guess) and walk around just observing and/or drawing life. It's got some pretty neat artistic segues, and captures not just the life of an artist, but his view of the world. And yet, it's not overdone. It manages to stay light, not only with comedy, but by using a light touch, I guess you could say. I thought it was very well done.

As a bonus it has a few attractive naked chicks, for those who enjoy that sort of thing *cough*

The trailer says 2007, but IMDB says 2004 and 2006, so... take your pick. It won awards and stuff.

I "ahem" procured this for a below nominal cost. I, too, was intrigued by the clever use of artwork. It was a nice mixture of romance, comedy and drama.

I don't think I really did the movie justice with my explanation. Not just with the neat segues, but with the view of the world from an artist's perspective. Example: his friend asks him when the last time he thought about his ex was, and what he was thinking of, and it cuts to a scene of the two of them in bed in a dark room, and shows him watching dust motes floating in an errant ray of light. So he replies "dust", his friend tells him he's crazy, and they move on. I like those scenes because they're sort of subtle, instead of portraying him as some emo attention whore just to make him look like an artist.

Was flicking thru Amazon tonight looking for something to watch, and spotted this. Remembered how much you seemed to like it, so I gave it a go. I gotta say, I really enjoyed it, too. The lil time stop sequences were pretty cool. He works with some crazy guys too LoL
