I did love Dark Crystal though!

I stopped after 15 mins.

I guess these movies just aren't the same when you watch them as an adult. I missed Legend as a kid and Fozzik insisted I watch it and...wow, what in the holy fuck.

I remember Labyrinth being just enthralling to me as a kid. I haven't watched that movie in probably 20 years or so, but I still quite vividly remember it. David Bowie was like O_O to my little 9 year old self. Sinister and beautiful and mysterious all at once. He was hypnotic and strange and wore really tight pants. Yeah, he made an impression lol. Creepy puppets were kind of new to me. These guys were nothing like the muppets, or even really like the amazing puppets in the Star Wars cantina scene. These puppets (particularly the ones who could remove their heads) were -almost- cute and whimsical, but something was terribly terribly wrong there. Some just creeped me out, but others scared me shitless. I can't watch an episode of Hoarders without remembering the junk lady carrying around all that stuff on her back. I look at a peach and remember the betrayal scene. I guess to a kid the whole thing was fascinating and scary at the same time, and just kind of captivated me.

So, shame that you missed it when you were a kid I suppose :\.

I haven't watched that one in years, but I still love Legend. I introduced my daughter to that one a few months back, and she loved it, too :D One of my fav scenes from that one is when Lily goes all dark with the wicked dress and black make up. I always thought that was the coolest fucking thing when I was a kid LoL

Yeah he was! Hard to picture him as that big, scary dude, but yeah you can hear his voice plain as day :D I still love the two lil dwarves, too.

I loved The Dark Crystal as a kid, and bought the DVD a while back on a nostalgia thing along with The Neverending Story, The Secret of NIMH, and The Princess Bride. I think it was scarier as an adult than it was as a kid, and I enjoyed hearing the voiceover at the beginning because I've heard it on this Crystal Method CD for so long and had forgotten where it originally came from.

Neverending Story was too cheeseball for me, even back in the day. The Secret of NIMH was the SHIT. Still love that movie. Princess Bride? Who doesn't love that movie? I mean, really...who doesn't? I will fucking cut them.

Oh I love Dark Crystal too! Have it around here somewhere, need to let kiddo watch that one too I suppose LoL Finally got her to sit thru The Princess Bride the other day as well. That one is a total classic :D We quote that one all the damn time. "Stop rhyming I really mean it!" *giggles*

Dark Crystal sucked - I watched it as an adult. My niece and nephew love it (I guess I only saw bits of it though...)
