The trailer for this is really misleading. I had no intention of ever watching it, but I was bored, and it was free. I am not a big fan of Al Pacino or Hilary Swank (she is sort of attractive, despite her horse-like face... or maybe because of it, I dunno), and I absolutely HATE Robin Williams. But this turned out to be much better than I had expected.

It's a murder mystery type movie. Al Pacino and his partner are dispatched from LA to Alaska to help out with a case of a young girl who was murdered. Back in LA, Internal Affairs was closing in on Pacino and his partner, who had some sort of secret in their past. Pacino's partner reveals that he was about to cut a deal with IA, which obviously pisses Pacino off, because all the people they put away will apparently be released if they discover his secret. Plus he will get fired and probably go to jail and stuff.

Al Pacino accidentally kills his partner while tracking down Robin Williams, the suspected killer of the girl, through a foggy forest-beach-thing, which is apparently common in Alaska (?). So the movie actually centers around Al Pacino trying to cover up the accidental death of his partner and pin it on Williams, and Williams trying to get Pacino to frame the girl's boyfriend for the murder, because Williams saw Pacino kill his partner. The trailer makes Williams out to be some violent psycho killer, but that isn't really the case. They edited the shit out of those scenes to make the trailer for a movie that doesn't exist.

Stuff happens, but you'll have to watch it to find out what. It's worth watching, if you're into detective type drama movies. It's not even close to an action flick, or anything like Seven, or Silence of the Lambs, so don't expect something fast-paced.
