Upcoming Events
So far we've had 1 major project in the lit section, which is The Mafia that is graciously written by Verileah. We're discussing ideas of other writing workshops we can do.
Upcoming projects:
:bullet1 Expanding on our Mafia characters. Encouraging participants to elaborate on their toons and posting short stories about them. Definitely something I plan on doing and been asked about.
:bullet1 Book Club. Both Verileah and I were surprised that a few people picked up the original story for Blade Runner to be ready for its Mafia run. We'd like to start an online Oprahish book club, starting with short stories. PM's on suggestions of books we can start with would be appreciated.
:bullet1 Story ring. This idea was shamelessly stolen from another site, but it sounded interesting.
1) Writing Type-Any. You may write a story about a person, with a person, even AS a person. It may not have to be a story, it could be a poem, or freestyle, even. This project is due to run for weeks, if not months. The aim here is to capture the essence of your victi. . .er, subject as closeley as possible. You may, and in fact, are encouraged to speak with your subjects, to clarify details and the like.
2) Organization-Circular closed. The idea behind this, is not to have a free-for-all orgy of stories flying twenty ways at once, with 40 people writing about a single person, 15 on another, and one left all alone.
I propose, instead, to do it as so:

Where one person gets to write about one other person, who will write about one other person and so on, until the first person is written about.
Verileah is busy with The Mafia so I'll be running these projects but not all at once. Again if any of our regular members have friends who would be interested, please invite them. The boards open to everyone, especially people who want to express their art, whether its visual or literary. =)
