HM Mafia Round #4 Serial Kill: Trojan Horse
“Gilbert? Can you come down for a minute? I want to talk to you.â€Â
Gilbert hesitated for a moment, then shook his head with a foolish grin and went back to climbing up the tree.
“Gilbert, I really need you to come down. This is serious, get down from there, you’re going to hurt yourself.†Gilbert was now completely ignoring the voice below, choosing instead to focus on the contents of his left nostril. He flicked the impressive ball of snot in the voice’s general direction and giggled.
“Gilbert…I have a present for you! Don’t you want to come down and see what it is?â€Â
This, Gilbert thought, was another matter altogether. A present! But still, Gilbert wasn’t sure; he liked presents an awful lot, but being up in this nice high tree was pretty nice too. Gilbert liked high places.
“What is it? What’s the present?â€Â
“Oh, you’ll have to come down and find out! It’s a surprise.â€Â
Gilbert continued to turn the matter over in his head. His curious side finally won out, and he began his descent from the tree.
~*~
“What an insufferable moron.†The killer scowled darkly while waiting for Gilbert to come down the tree. Thinking it best to appear relaxed, the killer leaned on a nearby wall, trying to look casual.
“Everything’s okay. Everything’s normal. Let’s just keep everything calm, calm and simple. Come on, down the tree you go, nice and easy…â€Â
~*~
Gilbert jumped down the last six feet or so of the tree and grinned happily. “Where’s my present? You said you had a present for me!â€Â
The killer was disgusted to notice that Gilbert had not bothered to clean up after their slaughter in the kitchen. Blood was crusted in a red stain on his cheek and at the corners of his mouth. “You have to come closer.â€Â
Gilbert continued to grin and stepped a little closer. “Closer Gilbert, come on now. That’s better, that’s…â€Â
With that, the killer reached out with both hands, grabbing Gilbert by the jaw. One quick snap and Gilbert was no more, but a sudden blast of cold ripped through the killer. An eerie howl went up into the black night, and the killer fled before the guests could discover the source of the noise.
