This is great!
Just a few things I notice;
The first name is a bit to far over, it could stand to be squished in a bit.
The figure is very will cut out and the hair is great. He's just a little dark.
Use a little more dodge/burn on his armor and fill in the missing pixels on his staff and your gold.
This is a really really great first piece. Make some more.

This Sig is the only piece of digital art I have attempted, and Temp stood over my shoulder while I did it.. cause i'm a dork with photoshop.. well here it is.. some C/C would be helpful methinks, just dont shred my poor fragile ego 8)

It looks good. I like the design. It is a bit dark though and the first name should be moved closer to him like Kaytana said. :)
My first photoshop picture... well, it no longer exists for a good reason. I did call up a friend and made him tell me how to do layers and such over the phone.

He did do really good didn't he?? :D He should do more too, he learnes fast, I would just tell him what tool to use to do what he wanted and show him how it worked and *bam* he was off..
