First, the flames don't seem to match the background color scheme. Maybe a more subtle green / purple to bring out the colors in the crystal behind her and her hair.
Second, your character's placement is a bit too central and close to the text, with a significant amount of "wasted" space to the right. I don't know what the screenshot looks like, but maybe you could put the character on the left and the text on the right, and adjust which part of the screenshot you're displaying.
You also might want to touch her up a little, make her armor and hair more vibrant, etc, but that's up to you. Also, if you're going to be using text that bold, you might want to increase the border size.
Of course, I don't really know what I'm talking about, so don't listen to me.
tryin to make a sig for my GW toon.. CC tha hell outta this

just kinda threw it together... i know i had that blue flame before on my other one.. but hell im good at makin em. i know its a lil big for some boards.. but i can scale it back of course.. just then i run into a problem with the text being too small.

I agree with Drae on the negative space. What you can do so alleviate the problem of the sig size is scale up your toon and cut her off at the waist but still get details of her chest and face. Try a different text effect, you did the blue flames with your wow sig, toss it up and try another one. There are tons out there. You can scale the sig longer and the toon can take up the space on the right. Make the name a little larger and the quote half the size underneath it. To balance out the sig, center the text.
Give that a try. There's 1 million ways to make a sig, that's just a suggestion =D Other than that, SHE'S HOT!!! :teehee

I agree with both.. the toon looks nice though and I like the colours in the background but I have to agree the flame colour doesn't go well with it.

Other than what's already been mentioned I wanted to say it looks like you have her scooted so far in to avoid cutting off her bow. My suggestion? Flip her! Have the edge of her right arm near the edge of the sig and the bow pointing into the body of the pic.

Am I wrong or is this a screenshot you've added text to? None of the above reccomendations will be easy to do if that's the case...they are supposing you've cut your toon out of the background. If you're wanting to 'challenge' your art, that might be a good place to start :) Unless I'm wrong...in which case kick me.

ya gilly its just a SS i cropped and added some text to and a border. the toon and the background are all the same layer. im just gonna take some more SS's and have ample room to the right for the text.. sucks you cant make the UI go away, otherwise it would be a lot easier.

Umm dang it I just read a thread on NS that said how to make the UI go away.. I think it's like Ctrl+Alt+H .. it's Ctrl + something + H I remember that.. And even if it's a screenshot you could still flip her like I suggested =p

Ctrl+shift+H for taking out the UI :)

No, I assumed it was a screenshot...
Gilly's right, though, extract the character and take a few screenshots of backgrounds you might like, then experiment with overlaying her on them.
