Don't know if this helps or hurts, I think I saw a movie recently where this woman always collected rocks (from the beach?) but she only picked up white ones, so the guy she's with (let's call him Attractive Male Lead) picks up a black one and makes her keep that one, and it reminds her of him etc etc.

I was discussing the neat habit of picking up a garden rock in every place I visit as being something I have always wanted to do. I had read about a character in a book doing this.
Mileron seemed to vaguely remember reading the same book. I'm wondering if any of you happen to know what book this character is in. I think I might like to read it again.

Tried searching on Amazon..? If you know what type of book it is, as far as what type of fiction.. you may have some luck if you're patient.

See that's just it, I don't know the genre, or anything else about the book. I can't even remember a character name.
