SW Mafia: Power Tools (SK #3)
Lian Si dipped through the doorway out of her room, marvelling again at how stocky most races were. She had been spedning a lot of time quietly pondering her current situation, analyzing data and compiling a straightfoward and reliable conclusion to the mysteries that even now were plaguing her.
For all her upbringing and study, she had failed to any definate conclusions. She feared that she may have to embrace those things that had made her so outcasted amoung her own race. She was going to have to trust her feelings and intuitions. She knew, logically, these were the very things that were most apt to be deceived, but also understood she had been right more often the wrong, and in a place with closing possibilities, those odds were good.
Deciding to try some variety, hoping that the change of setting would stimulate her more she opted to forgo the standard cafeteria, remembering a small diner she passed when first arriving at the facility.

'Savor your power, relish your hatred,' Exar Kun encouraged his new pupil.
His hosts' body tried again to expel the foreign presence only again to be defeated by Kun's stronger will. Visably manifested, the body regurgitated its breakfast.
'See now, I am powerful, and the Dark Side facilitates my power, feeds it, focuses it.'
"No! You can't control me!"
'Control you? No, I am only trying to guide you,' Kun replied, soothingly. 'Latch on to your bitterness, it is there, buried within. Ignoring the pain doesn't negate it. Revenge is the only way to eradicate it. Seek your Revenge. Hurt those who have hurt you.'
Kun could feel the anger begin to build, and he knew he had found his mark.
Through the eyes of someone else's body, he began to shape the destiny of those trapped on the far-away plannet called Kessel.

As Lian Si rounded a corner in the small hall that connected the secluded communal area her and those with her were staying, she paused. Rubbing her arms, trying to will away the chill that had suddenly ran up her spine, her graceful walked slowed and she attuned her ears to the quiet noises of the station.
She heard the distant thrum of power generators, deep in the planets' protective rock, but little else. Unused mining and operational driods stood around her like corpses, bodies limp and lights dimmed.
Telling herself she was nothing but spooked, she continued on a few steps before she heard the noise again.
A steady clanking and a soft thrum. Sure now that she wasn't alone she turned behind her, calling out, "Hello?"
She was asnwered with the sudden activation of the droids in the area, all lights and mechanics. Eyes glowed, treds extened or retracted, gears whirred as if the corpses had been brought to life. The hallway was dim, and the skeletons of forgotten driods circled closer, blocking escape.
The scream of the mining bots drill was high-pitched and fierce. The scream of the dying clone was pained and abrupt.
It stuck out that out of all the unused droids, the only ones given a specific function were the mining droids.
“Kessel penal colony, carrying food packs and drill parts,†she replied. “Transmitting clearance codeâ€Â
Lian Si dipped through the doorway out of her room, marvelling again at how stocky most races were.
I don't know if this is intended to be a clue or not. It would seem kind of silly to have Lian Si pondering how stocky most of us are if she is about to be attacked by a Besalisk, but who knows? I think it is worth noting, but I don't put much stock in it.
Description of Besalisks:
this alien race was only vaguely humanoid in stature, having a thick body that was supported by two stubby legs. Males of the species had four heavily-muscled arms sprouting from their sides, with the upper pair being used primarily for gripping and manipulation while the lower pair was used as secondary graspers. Each of the male Besalisk's four hands was studded with three thick, dextrous fingers. Although rarely seen, it was known that female Besalisks had more than four arms, but the necessity for them was unknown. The head of a besalisk was amphibian in shape, with a heavy wattle hanging from the lower jaw. A mustache of sensory whiskers covered the upper lip. A wide, ridged crest covered the skull of the male Besalisk, with a group of tiny feathers providing cover. The presence of the wattle and the feathers on the skull provided clues to the Besalisk race's avian ancestry, and many xenobiologists believed that they were descended from giant birds. The Besalisk's obese appearance was an evolutionary reaction to the frigid temperatures of Ojom, as fatty cells stored water and food for the winter months.
Probably the stockiest race present.
'Savor your power, relish your hatred,' Exar Kun encouraged his new pupil.
Latch on to your bitterness, it is there, buried within.
And from the previous SK hit:
Kun, Lord of the Sith millennia before, hadn't found a better apprentice, so much anger
The SK's supressed anger and bitterness is a recurring theme. In my original assessment, the most angry person was Kashaal, immediately followed by Manotas. Kashaal is dead now, leaving Manotas with the most anger, and lots of reasons to feel betrayed and be seeking revenge (although why against us, I do not know).
Unused mining and operational driods stood around her like corpses, bodies limp and lights dimmed.
The scream of the mining bots drill was high-pitched and fierce.
Lian Si was killed by a mining droid. Manotas is working as a miner here on Kessel and would know how to operate them.
However, this could also be pointing to Kavitha, since she was delivering drill parts. However, I think that there is much more evidence for Manotas.

This is the only part that confuses me. Can anyone make any sense of the bolded part? Is there anyone here that would hate all of us?
There is no good answer to your question Jinheim. I can't make that line fit anywhere either unless it was Rhaa or Eikoow for having been enslaved.
*shrugs*
I see it like this, just cuz a trucker delivers jet engine parts doesnt mean he knows how to fly a 747. *shruggles*
Kavitha just delivered replacement parts as a cover to get through the Imperial check point. Manotas would have been the one exposed to those mining droids... and would prolly know how to use them.
