Night Catch - a poem
I'd forgotten how much they catch
my attention late at night
I'd forgotten how when unchecked
they can be annoyingly bright.
You'd think I'd remember
having dealt with them for years
I turn in bed with baleful sigh
For its flashing has caught my eye
It sits there glaring
It sits there smug
It seems so uncaring
as I pull out the plug
Myself to look for I remind
The manual to set the VCR's time.
