Vampires Galore
Well the cursed, damned kind with legal rights...
I have just begun reading books by Laurell K Hamilton, I am currently reading Circus of the Damned
These books are a forray into the life of a zombie animator and vampire killer known as The Exicutioner. It is written in first person and Anita Blake is a strong well developed character. If you are interested in vampire, lycanthropy, zombie and magical theory, these books have all of it. And are very detailed with it. Anita Blake is good at what she does and is very informed in the world of the preternatural.
They are easy to read and entertaining. Each book can stand on its own so it is not necessary to start with the first one. The later books to allude to previous happenings, but not in a way that you can't figure out what happened.
I highly recommend you pick up one or six.

I've only read the first book with Merideth, but it struck me as the same character, different name, slightly different plotline (using fairies rather than vampires and werewolves).
Overall the concept and underlying story is really awesome, but I'm disappointed with the progression of the Anita Blake character.
PS Jean Claude needs a damn haircut =/ Richard 4TW

I cant stand Anita Blake. I read Crulean Sins and was so totally turned off by her whole unable to make up her mind and wishywashyness! BLEH!! I want strong heroines who are not affraid to make choices or take two men to bed at once! haha I did enjoy several things about the book, the weres being one of them but overall I just couldnt stand Anita's character and chose not to read any more of the series.
I love Sherrilyn Kenyon, Maggie Shayne and Christine Feehan. I just started reading Harris's Southern Vampire series. Very fun!
