New Av

Hi. Sorry I have been away so long. Work has kept me busy. Then of course there is the whole "Rae is so graceful she managed to fall off a three foot ledge in the parking lot" thing. Well, being stuck in bed with only my laptop did give me a chance to work on my pixel work which i have not done in a while. I decided to try the hair technique I had been developing for larger pieces on a small base. i also played around with techniques for createing the background. These are the results. Thanks to Mai for her nit picking and pointing out the details I forgot. She obviously didn't get the memo that says that as my sister she is supposed to tell me how wonderful I am. Seriously, I would love any and all crits but especially on the hair and background as that was the point of putting the av together. Thanks.

I love your hair! The BG is nice, I like the autumn look/feel going on, but the hair is where its at IMO.

I love the background. I have a bursh that looks similar to that, I can just never seem to make it look that awesome. It looks like a fancy wallpaper or portrait studio background.

The hair is great, but my eyes keep getting drawn to the top right (her left)of her head. There isn't much detail there. I think a strand or two of the darker blonde across the top there will make it pop just that much more.

I love that background! Fall is my favorite time of year, I love those colors. I like her hair, no c/c there, her skin color looks a little too...yellow? Looks like she's missing some shading but honestly I dont know how to fix that. =x I do like the hair though, the shading looks great to me. :thumbsup

Thanks all. Kaytana you probably do have the brush, it is a photoshop standard. In the special effects set I believe. I took your advice and added some more contrast to that part of the hair. The deeper tone didn't look quite right, it seemed to undermine the highlights in that area. So I used the medium gold instead. I think it looks better.

Good call on the skin Mae. I have been having trouble with it. This is the original base I was working from.
Against all of the gold it looked really pink to me. So I have been trying to balance it out, and got a little carried away. I have made some more adjustments. Tell me what you think. Yep Dia, it is a bit dark, hers is not a happy expression so I didn't think bright colors would suit her. I'm not sure what more to do about brightening it without killing the mood. suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again.
