I dont think so ...well she might be able to strip it down and reconnect the wires...but then It'd be all ghettoedâ„¢.

I'm sure you can send it to wacom for repair...
I always thought those cables were too shoddy. They should be modular and easy to replace...

oh my g........!! I would check with Wacom for sure to see if it can be repaired, at the very least try an electronics repair shop, it's just wires so they could be able to repair it. For a LOT cheaper than a new one I would bet.

Well I've had the tablet for more than 2 years, so it's not under warrenty anymore. I contacted Wacom anyhow to ask about repair services, so now I just have to wait for a response.
After the day I've had, this is just the icing on the cake. It's one of those days where everything that could possibly go wrong has gone wrong.
We're struggling to get pre-qualified for a home loan because of Rob's really REALLY lousy credit, despite the fact that I've paid off all of his debt. Because of that, the house we really want has slipped through our fingers. It was perfect in every way, and the seller had 6 other offers. I should have known it was too good to be true, because everything else we've looked at in our price range have been dumps.
We are running out of time to find a house and get financed because our lease is up October 18th. Now that we have a dog, we pretty much have to get out of the apartment, because we already have 2 cats and I don't think we can have more than 2 pets. I refuse to rent for another year. I've been on the phone with lending companies every day for the past two weeks. I'm emotionally exhausted with the process and I'm losing faith.
The class I'm taking right now, Digital Illustration, is kicking my ass. I'm fairly certain that I can kiss my straight 'A' grade point average goodbye. I'm completely overwhelmed by the work load, the assignments, the participation requirements, and learning Illustrator.
Now that the dog has eaten my tablet cord, assignments will be that much more difficult. Rudy also peed on the carpet this morning, so he's not my favorite pet right now. It's pouring down rain here and when I take him out to potty, it's a struggle because he doesn't want to be in the rain and the wet grass ... hence peeing inside on the carpet.
The cats are so stressed out over a dog being here that they are keeping their distance from even me, so I'm not able to cuddle with them for comfort.
I bought a beautiful new rusty red/orange oxford shirt to wear for work, and a tan skirt to go with it. They both fit great, which is a blessing. Rob left chapstick in his pockets and I forgot to check them when I did laundry this morning. The shirt and skirt are now ruined.
I have a blister on my foot from new shoes that hurts like a bitch.
All in all, life pretty much sucks.
Wacom better fix my goddamn tablet.

Somewhat good news. I got a response form Wacom already.
I was prepared for this not to be covered under the warranty. I'm glad that I have some options, though. Hopefully getting it repaired wont be overly expensive.
Erin:
Puppy damage doesn't really fall under the Manufacturer Defect clause but
all you need to do is call our Tech Support Team. They can help you either
have it sent in for repair or sell you the cable with instructions. Give
them a call at 360.896.9833 Option #4 for assistance.
My sympathies, as so far (knock on wood) my Wacom cables are the only things
my puppies haven't chewed up yet!
Regards,
Sue Ovall

Sue,
Amazingly, my Wacom cables are the only thing my puppy HAS chewed on. I've been lucky that he sticks to his chew toys most of the time. This is just one of those things that has come at a horrible time, as I'm a graphic design student and taking a class that my table is used heavily for.
Thank you for getting back to me so quickly, Sue. Hopefully repairing the cables wont be terribly expensive.
Take care,
Erin Rippy
And she responded back again!
Erin:
The Intuos2 cables generally run $22.60. Just give Tech Support a call so they can initiate your order.
As for puppies, you are lucky, in my house anything plastic (and moving cats) seem to be fair game....
Do you know how much plastic we have in our lives???
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Sue Ovall

LOL, that's awesome.. Mom had a good experience with their customer service also when she first got her tablet.
I'd donate the ex's tablet to you if you'd like to drive to Atlanta..but I think the gas would be more than the new cables. ;)

LOL, true. But shipping wouldn't be!
I called tech support, talked to a really nice guy. Sue's estimate was a bit low. To have the cables shipped to me, it's about $36.00. He did not reccomend trying to open the back of my tablet by myself. He said that the little tabs are VERY easy to break, that their technicians even break them sometimes. If you break too many of them, you're screwed.
To send the tablet to Wacom, it will cost me $55.00 plus shipping ... so roughly $60 to $65. He said that if they break the tabs, it's on them to repair or replace.
I'm torn, because money is so tight. I may hold out and continue to use my tablet and watch eBay to keep my eyes open for an Intuos2 going for cheap. There are some listed right now, but they all cost more than having mine repaired.

Wow, that first one Sue is awesome. Consider looking for refurbished tablets, Erin. Go to newegg.com, that's where I got mine at half the price. It's a graphire 6x9 i think (i forget the dimensions all the time) and those run like 300+, Mike bought mine for 150 and you'd never know it was refurbished. Original packing and everything.

graphires aren't that expensive.. intuos 6x9 was like 300.
