Day One Lynch: He who is without sin...
"So..."
The discussion of who was being let go hadn't gotten very far. People had suggested just about everyone from the white haired old lady down to the kid with a cleaning obsession. Someone even suggested the loud mouth blonde but that seemed less like mercy and more a plea for their continued sanity.
"I think I should go." Lionel said quietly. " I'm used to dealing with all kinds of situations...I could help the cops by telling them what I know. Doctors are respectable, people will listen to me."
"Wait a minute, why should he go?" One woman fairly shrieked.
"I don't think you'd be listened to any more than the rest of us."
"Selfish bastard! Let the old lady go! or..or one of the kids!"
Lionel shrugged his shoulders and took another sip of his tea. " I don't think, no offense to you, ma'am." He nodded his head to lady knitting quietly on the loveseat. "That a little old lady or a kid is going to be able to work with the police to get you all out of here. Think about what I'm saying!" Lionel watched them all, scanning the room with hazel eyes that seemed to miss nothing.
Except the bag of coffee that hit him in the back of the head.
"I don't -think- so you coward!"
Another eyed the med student suspiciously "You know I bet they were thinking of letting that other guy go and you killed him so it wouldn't happen! That whole poisoning things seems awful suspicious to me!"
"What? You're crazy!" Lionel rubbed at his head, only to be pelted by another bag and then another.
"Yeah I bet we are! Scumbag, which of us would have been next, huh?" The speaker reached over to the shelf and pitched another bag at the would be doctor.

Mural muttered to herself about having to do everything personally if she wanted to get anything done right.
"Honestly, how hard is it to WATCH the hostages?" She had looked around the back room where they had all been discussing their latest demands when she noticed they were all there!
"Do I have to think for you all?" She yelled as she stormed back into the front room, pushing up her glasses as she went.
Miracles never ceased, she got into the room to find everyone sitting around in a subdued sort of silence. Mural took a calming breath, its going to be okay. She even smiled. That was until she noticed the large amount of spilt coffee bags on the floor and the unmoving body.
"You people are all crazy!"
Now she spoke, finally, addressing the matter of her sanity. "We're crazy? She asked in heavily accented English. "You just took an entire store hostage!" For a moment her voice took on a higher, incredulous note as she unconsciously slipped into the voice of one of her more famous characters; the one she was dressed as, as a matter of fact.
Seeing the other's unconcerned stare, Yumei threw her hands up in frustration and disgust, then suddenly remembered why they'd been crossed in the first place. resuming her usual meek pose, she pushed herself further back into the corner and make a small, apologetic bow for her outburst.
Having only thrown one bag of beans, that someone had dropped on her loveseat, she was satisfied knowing it had pegged him squarely in the groin as he went down. Served him right for thinking her feeble!
