It seems an odd scene for a guy just standing around with a sword in his hand. It begs the question, what the heck is that guy doing? And maybe it is just the extra light on his face and how dark it is everywhere else. The problem with his face is he's ugly. But frankly, there are too many beautiful people in fantasy art and let's be honest here...guys with swords aren't always and probably aren't often hot. (I was thinking the other day that I'd love to see Kassy draw someone hideous and fat for a change hehe) I dig the colours and the scene even...I just think he needs a more menacing pose or like he's sneaking around or something rather than just an ugly dude standing around with a limp sword near some rock.

All in all I will say that I'm impressed and glad that you're taking the jump into this arena Jin! Good for you exposing your artsy fartsy side :)

On second inspection, might be cool to have like a sun emerging from the backside of that planet as the light source and then you'd have to show the light from behind but he'd be all shadowy and what not. But I have NO idea how one does these things so I may be pushing the bounds of either Jin's skills or Poser's ;)

I intentionally made him a little ugly in the face for the exact reasons you listed.

I love it. The slab of rock on the right looks a bit artificial to me though, as if it just kinda got stuck there and is now hovering helplessly about an inch above the ground.

I think when you showed it to me last night you had some more shadow in that area which made it look a little more natural. :)

Looks good Jin. Though he does look a bit bored, like take the picture already! The red circle on the hilt is another thing that stands out as odd to me but that's being nit picky.

Yeah, it was yellow by default and I tried making it a reddish color to match the glow, but failed.

I like your character , pose, sword :) He looks like hes kinda standing on the edge of the planet if it where square >P
