Php ~!

I'm trying to set my guild forums up to where only guild members can view some areas. I know I know how but I forgot ... make sense? lol Vex explained it once but I have slept since then /

I want :
General - Guild information, Guests (for everyone)
Members Only - all the rest the crap but trades and officer (members only)
Officer - Hidden

I remember something about assigning groups but i get confused =X

I assign my guild members to a group and set it as private
my officers to? .. I dont want just someone who registers to be able to my our phat starts and what not ya know? lol Like we have any ...

You set General to view/read/post etc to Public/all permission. That means anyone, even guests can see and post. If you want them to register before posting, set post to REG.

Members only - set the forum permissions to private and then you have to create a usergroup for Members only. After you've created that usergroup, set the usergroup permission to be able to read Members only. Remember you have to crete the forum and set it's permission first.

I walked you thru the officer before, but again set forum section to private, create their usergroup then set their usergroup permission.

Think I'm just gonna leave it as it is. I'm afraid I'm gonna mess it all up rofl I have my officers group and my members groups set up already tho. its when I go in to the threads where i get lost ther is public, reg, private, private hidden,mods , mod hidden =X sigh *head explodes*

You need to go into Advanced settings. I never use the simple because it's never simple. Going into advanced shows you all the abilities and you can set each one.

Then I got to move subcats to different areas Can you do that by just using the move up/down or i got to do something uber to them too lol

Yes in the management section you can move all the sections within their catagories with the up and down. To move them to other catagories, you have to edit the section and pick what parent forum from the drop down menu you want them to be in.

yay next issue is to find out what i need to do to get my roster to list members by alpha order =X or officer alpha, member alpha ....... ROFL!~ Vex loves me i know it! *hides*
