My Pet Rats....
Will now make a post: I will send a picture of Stich and Thumbilina (My Fiance named thumbilina). I do this by letting them loose on my keyboard, which they have discovered makes noise, and there for love it:

They suck at typing.
But here's pictures of my girls:
These first two are of both of them:

Rats are awesome. They cleaner then cats, smarter then dogs, more socialable then any other animal I've dealt with... ever. If you ignore them, they get very upset, and can actually get depressed. Thats why I have 2 of them. To keep each other company when I am at work.
Only down side is that they are smart, and learn by watching. That means they can figure out cage doors, how to get in and out of food storage areas, how to get beer out of a bottle. my old rat Darwin figured this one out.
Hardest thing most people have to over come is the sewer rat image. Which is not these at all. These are hooded rats. Every person who's met my rats tells me that they don't think they are icky or disgusting, and actually consider getting them.
In short, they are cute!

Very cute! And yes, much cleaner (and much more portable) than other mammals. The intelligence can be a downside, but can also be a lot of fun.

One time we decided to see how high we could let the grass in our backyard grow before the city made us cut it (4', btw). We got rats :-\ I beat one to death with a shoe, once. These rats seem cool, though.

We have mice. They too are very intelligent and can be trained. I just can't do rats, the tails freak me out. And since we can't have dogs or cats we have mice. I love them, the one we have now is very active both during the day and night. He has been corner trained, and will do a couple of tricks I taught him. They too learn by watching, but he's not strong enough to open our cage, but believe me he's figured out how it works and tries his hardest.
