Enchanter - WIP

Yes, working on 2 more at the same time again LOL The enchanter and the warrior are actually best friends in game. So it just fit to work on them at the same time.

The client had a very clear cut idea of what he wanted ... even right down to his robes and the background. He wanted the ruby dragon in the background and his epic 1.5 in his hand as well as the mirror/metal ball hovering over his left hand. Needless to say, I couldn't figure out a way to make the concept art into a 3D pic. So his staff is postworked in :(

Still not sure if I like the lighting on this one. But I'm terrified to do too much tweaking on it. I've already lost the poser save file twice on this one :(

EDIT: This package is complete!

I'm liking this one! A couple of things.. I would like to see some light marks on him from the staffs glow, and with the wind blowing his hair to his right I think his sleeves or robe should have some motion as well.

The client and I felt that the sleeves shouldn't move due to the robe being made of heavy velvet. It takes a lot more to move them than it does thinning hair :)

And I see what you mean about the staff glow. Will work on that while I'm going in and fixing the slight tear in his robe on his right (our left) chest hehe I just noticed that when I was looking for how to do the glow marks :)

Thanks Adi and Temp :)

Is the globe postworked PS or bryce/poser? You may want to dup the layer in PS and give it a chrome look, right now it doesn't look metal at all.

I know it's WIP, but deepen the dragon shadows maybe? Soften it a little with a blur...maybe even add a layer in PS and do your lighting that way? That's what I've been doing lately. I love love this one. I'll c/c the other laterz. :thumbsup

very nice work sunbur. I'm becoming an avid fan of yours.

For the lighting though, the background suggests sunlight, or global lighting. He's got a harsh yellow colored light shining on his left ( our right ). I think turning it white and making sure there are no "fall offs" on his face and stuff would do it some good.

As mae said, if something looks washed out like it needs more depth, its sometimes a good idea to duplicate the final image in photoshop and set the layermode to overlay, and play with the opacity settings.

Well, the client requested a bit of fantasy style lighting. Which is why the weird lighting effects are in there. This client is a photographer IRL and had a very clear cut idea of what he wanted.

I updated the first post to show the background and the signature he chose to go with it. This package is now complete in the eyes of the client :)

The...sexy. I've seen people really screw up the m3 wizard robe but you did it justice. Very nicely done, Sun =)
