Nicolas Cage and Wife Have Baby Boy

Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage is a new father.

His wife, Alice Kim Cage, gave birth Monday to a boy, Kal-el Coppola Cage, in New York City, said Cage's Los Angeles-based publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were available.

"They are healthy and happy and it's quite lovely," Wolf said by phone from New York.

Cage is a nephew of filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.

The couple married in July 2004. It was the third marriage for Cage and the first for his new wife, who was 20 when they were wed. They met when Cage visited a Los Angeles restaurant where she was working as a waitress.

Cage, 41, who won an Oscar for his role in "Leaving Las Vegas," has a son from a previous relationship.

His screen credits also include "Lord of War," now in theaters, "Adaptation," "Honeymoon in Vegas" and "Moonstruck."

He was previously married to Lisa Marie Presley and actress Patricia Arquette.

In fairness to the kid, his dad is Nicholas Cage...he's going to be hanging out with kids named things like Apple and god knows what else. And he's going to be filthy stinking rich. I wouldn't worry about the kid too much ;)

I haven't been watching it for a couple seasons either...but I think this new season is the one to watch! The season premier he built the fortress of solitude!! It HAD to be the set from the old superman movies cause it looked EXACTLY the same.

wait... I thought I heard that 'Spike' would be on the show as Brainiac!? He's General Zod??? Damnit, I missed it and only saw the last 3-4 minutes of last week.

Well...to be honest I ASSUMED he was General Zod since he came out of a space craft with a woman and a guy who claimed to be the minions of Zod. And Zod in the movies was this hardcore british guy. They haven't said outright that his name is Zod so I could be entirely wrong.

I didn't see the whole show, just the ooze dripping out and him rising up out of it.. I really need to set up the new DVR box thingie *sigh*

I blame X for the Brainiac role info, he's my source so we should all beat him up.. he'd like a bunch of chicks doing that *nods*

I had heard he was supposed to play Brainiac as well. I think it was Wizard magazine that I read it in... though it could have been Newsarama.
