Flash Media

Ok, so I have to teach myself to use Flash. I don't even know where to start. What's the best software to use and does anyone know where I can get some tips and tricks on the matter?

Haven't been in the market for Flash products in a while...is your company buying Flash for you? If so might as well get the full Studio 8 *shrugs*. http://www.macromedia.com/software/?promoid=BINK. Otherwise it depends on your needs. I prefer dreamweaver to golive but don't really care for their vector program or their version of imageready *shrugs*. As for Flash 8 vs Flash 8 pro...looks like it really depends on what you're doing with the software but I think for a lot of stuff you'd be fine with Flash 8 as long as you didn't get spoiled by 8 pro. I only worked with it up to MX though *shrugs*.

I always liked the Lynda books http://www.lynda.com/info/books/ but it doesn't appear she's written anything for the latest release; she might soon though and she does good work :). http://www.flashkit.com/index.shtml is a must and every time I've asked for help the responses have been very polite. Search is your friend on the board though :). And yeah, the site is ugly as sin, sorry about that.

A good program to use for flash is.....Flash, by Macromedia. I think it's out to MX version (Flash MX) That's what you will want. (It's a bugger to learn. I don't have the patience for Flash) Flash gets deep with scripting and shizz too.

Well looks like I might scam a free copy of Flash 5...beggers can't be choosers. I'd like the newest one of course.
