First impressions of the new album are:

Very Down Tempo.

Im not sure how much I like the album but I have only listened to it 2 times now. Im sure it will grow on me with a few more listens. Im going to the show in 2 weeks. It will be my 10th show and I have never seen a bad one. Ill post an update after.

I've been thinking about buying the album myself. The one song I've heard they released sounded a lot like something off of Music for the Masses but less bassy. I didn't realize their show was already going...do they have any Chicago dates? I saw them once about 11 years ago...they really are the shiznit in concert.

The song you talking about is named Precious and it rocks. There are like 10 remixes already. Sasha did a trancey version thats 12 minutes long. He also did a 12 minute of Enjoy the silence that is still one of my all time favorite clubs anthems. Ive been listening to Depeche since 1982. I saw them in london that year.

Here's a blast form the past gil. Bravo showed a 2 hour concert of Morrisey yesturday. Hes fat grey and balding now. He can stil sing though.

I tried this one out a couple days ago. The one in radio circulation I like, plus there was another one that sounded like it could grow on me. The rest didn't sit up and grab me as much. If I was really into buying CDs I doubt I would get this one.

We're DM'ers, not hardcore go to their concerts, but we've listened to their stuff for years. My favorite song from them is 'Barrel of a Gun', but what I did hear of the new one sounded good.

Go pick up a copy of the DVD "One Night in Paris" It's alive show from 2001. Well worth the money if you a fan.

Yeah Morrissey put out a new album last year and went on tour. He played here in Chicago and everyone made a big tadoo about it. In my opinion, Morrissey shoulda stayed buried. No one wants to hear a 40 year old man whining about how life is the suck. That sort of behaviour is only "cool" when a teenager does it.

But the Smiths rocked. As did his old stuff...one of the best lines of any song:
Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking
When I said I'd like to smash every tooth In your head

The show Rocked!!! That was my 10th concert.I have seen them in 4 different countries and they can still bring goose bumps on certain tracks. "Enjoy the silence" fucking owned. They even played "Just Cant Get Enough" a song from 1981. The best $75 I have spent in years. If your a fan on any level go see the show you will love it. On a side note the new album really has grown on me.
