A week in review

In the last 7 days at work I have:

Had to evacuate my building from a gas leak.
Had to deal with a flood from a busted water pipe.
Had to watch my ceiling buckle cuz the Bailey's gym upstairs shower flooded.
Confront a shop lifter just outside of my store and make him return a $170 product. (long story short he ran into another store and changed, then ran out of the back of that store. Well he left a $400 leather coat, a sweater and a shirt. So I ran those through my trash compacter)
Had the female bathroom over flow and put 3 inches of water on the floor in about 1/3 of my store.

Fun week. However it won't last much longer as I have a new job, paying me much more. Fuck that store I am gone.

Pep boys recruited me. Gave me $11k more a year base, a better bonus plan (open ended too) to come into a store with no sales management, and train a sales staff. On top of that I need to get that store organized. Basically all the good stuff I do now as a manager, but more money, and better benefits. Its a $5 million/yr store right now, but has been terribly managed over the last 3 years. Realistically it should be a $10-12 million/yr store. If I can turn it around we are talking HUGE bonus's. Like $5-10k a month for the first year if I can pull it off.

But I got my work cut out for me.


In other news. CompUSA is open 24hrs on Black Friday. So the employees will have to be there at 11:30pm on Thanksgiving. On top of that, the closing crew will have to run the store to mid-night of that friday. That sucks.....
