Ok.. I've banged my head against the wall on this one for long enough. :bang I decided to come here for a lil help on how to make this darn shield look more 3d. But please be gentle.. I am still learning poser as my work schedule allows.
I'd also *love* tips on how to get the lighting on the character to match the background.

Oooh, she's cute! The best way to give something dimension is by using highlights and shadows. I'm still figuring that out myself, though. Decide where your light source is first and then concentrate soft highlights from the direction of it. Like a shield is suppose to bow out for the most part. Start with giving the center a little more highlights to represent depth. In contrast, give the edges a little shadow. I'm not the best at that though, so hopefully someone else more experienced can give you more pointers on that.
As for working with the lights in poser...it's a bitch. You might want to consider doing lighting in postwork by using photoshop. A cool trick to deepen the colors by not darkening it totally up is duplicating the final layer and giving the dup'd layer an overlay of about 50 percent. It'll help tremendously with accenting shadows.
Really great start though, Jess! She's very elegant, clean and just very regal. Good choice of a background and good posing. :thumbsup Definitely looking forward to seeing more!
