EQ2 : SOGA ?

OK I am way out of it.. is that the new expansion they did or something? I saw some new screenshots posted on NS for the exchange and people called them SOGA ones... they were realistic looking versus EQ2s original cartoony faces.. someone please tell me what that is cause I like it a LOT better!!! Maybe I could even get X to play again since his gripe was the original EQ2 models were f-uguly....
