You don't have to be good, no, but it does take daily involvement otherwise you might die and not know it =x It works by votely nightly on who you think is mafia or if you are mafia, you try and get the townies to kill themselves off while covering your mafia ass =D

Basically you make a bio. They give you the requirements for it, like they need to be a kid for HP. Then once all those are submitted, they assign roles. There are title roles and townie/mafia roles. Your role might require you to submit a 'skid' which is a name nightly.

The only creative requirement is that you have to do is come up with a coherent character biography. Once that is done, the game basically plays out like some kind of detective/political game. You analyze scenes written by moderators for clues, and talk about them (or keep your observations to yourself, if you so decide) with your fellow players in ooc. You also talk to your other players and try to feel them out, determine their motives, forge alliances, concoct plots, etc... again, in ooc. Some people just choose to accompany their ooc activity by writing their character mimic it in RP form.

Course there are a lot of dangerous people and while you're worried about one the others come up and lynch you or knock you off. Good times!
