I've been really wanting to get a penguin tee shirt for my sister for Christmas, who really likes penguins, but I've found very, very few I like.
The only one I've found that I liked is ->this one<- which I'm currently losing the bid on. (No one bid against me or I'll cry).
So my 2 questions are as follows:
1) Does anyone know where that tee shirt comes from so I can buy it elsewhere if I lose the auction? I have had no luck finding it elsewhere online, and I really don't want to search every store in Atlanta for a shirt that might not be carried anymore.
2) If I want to create my own penguin design, would it be better to paint it on a shirt with fabric paints (if so, what kinds do you reccomend) or would it be better to just find a place who does custom designs? If you've had a custom print done, how long does it take?
She's 17 and punk-ish so a cartoony children's tee shirt isn't going to cut it, and I don't really like the Linux penguin design, nor is she into Linux. And also she's like.. a size 0, and likes her clothes fitted, so I have to be careful with sizes.

You could use cafepress like I did with our shirts. The nice thing about them is that it doesn't cost anything to do just one and it's real easy to do. Give them a look see =D

Good suggestion, thank you! Can you indicate where you'd like the logo to be placed? Ideally if I design my own, I'd like a smaller logo on the left breast and a larger image centered on the back.

Ok kidding aside - Typically a teenager won't want to wear something done with fabric paint, no matter how well it is done, how much it costs, or despite what they say - so I'd recommend the latter.
Personally I think you should get someone to draw a big close colorful penguin head ripping into a poor helpless fish - black T - then underneath have it say "Cute and ruthless".

Haha perfect. And I agree about the paints, but I wasn't talking like... puff paints. Y'know those sparkly pink ones that everyone used back in the day to decorate tennis shoes and jean jackets. I was hoping I'd be able to paint with some sort of professional fabric paint to make it look like a screen. But you're likely correct it will look too homemade.
And yes, she's very cute =P
