Hogwarts Mafia Round 2: Serial Kill - Seen but not Herd

And as Mai is finally getting some sleep I shall post the Serial Kill :D.

Important OOC information! The reference to the SK as he is speaking of Lord Voldemort who is possessing a student and does not indicate the gender of the student themselves. It is simply to make it clear that the SK is acting under an enchantment.

Bowtruckle - A small (maximum height 8 inches) insect-eating tree-dweller with long sharp fingers (two on each hand), brown eyes, and a general appearance of a flat-faced little stickman made of bark and twigs, which serves well as camouflage in its native habitat.

Thestral - Huge winged horses with white shining eyes, dragonish faces and necks, and skeletal black bodies. They are attracted to the smell of blood. Thestrals are invisible to anyone who has not seen death.

Hogwarts Courtyard:: Michel Hasley and the SK::

Michel sat under one of the trees out near the edge of the Forbidden Forest coaxing a bowtruckle to his hand with fairy eggs. It had been several longs hours of waiting but the Ravenclaw was patient and now it was only mere inches from his hand.

The student walked down the path out in front of the courtyard and past some commotion involving a snowball fight without even paying it the slightest attention.

If only apparation were possible within the school's grounds then he could come and go as he pleased. Supplies could be gotten and followers (what was left of them) could be contacted. Transportation then was the first order of business.

Walking past the Carriage House sparked an idea. A Threstral! Of course! The student hurried towards the Forbidden Forest. Now some fresh blood would be needed in order to attract them and then an Imperius Curse to get it to do his bidding...

'Perfect' There was a student oblivious to everything else going on around him under a nearby tree. There were tools of all sorts behind Hagrid's cabin and a glance in that direction found something suitable.

"Accio machette!"

***

Michel looked up from his new little friend when he heard the spell being cast. A machette flew into the air from one of the pegs on the back of the hut and right into the hand a student standing quite close to him.

He barely had time to yell in surprise as the machette arched cleanly through the distance between them and made a long red gash across his chest. The Ravenclaw backed away from his attacker in confusion and pain.

What was that sound? Michel looked up but did not see a thing. Still he could have sworn he heard something like the beating of wings or the stamping of hooves. The pain must really be getting to him.. He shook his head and backed further away, finding himself out on the lawn, he was starting to feel safer when the other student hadn't bothered to come at him again and therefore had time to wonder what the attack was all about before he was slammed to the ground.

***

The student watched in satisfaction as the threstrals winged through the air with gloomy magnificence. Their feet touched the ground just at the forest's edge, not even pausing as they ran towards the scent of blood that caused black nostrils to flare in anticipation.

The creatures trampled the boy in their hunger and for those who had been standing around watching, confusion soon turned into horror; poor Michel Hasley had appeared to many bystanders to have fallen to the ground in some form of fit and then as if appearing out of nightmare, black saurian horse like creatures thundered into being...for you see threstrals only appear to those who have seen death.

***

Now was the time to constrain one of the creatures to do his bidding, the Dark Lord raised the student's wand as the threstrals thundered past but then something unexpected happened; one of the beasts reared up and bumped against a tree. Odd behavior indeed if you did not see the bowtruckle who believed his oaken home to be in danger. It made an odd sound and began stabbing fearlessly at the larger creature with its long stick-like fingers. The thestral hardly knew what to do other than to continue rearing and backing away.

It backed right into the student standing at the edge of the forest, knocking them over and causing a silver amulet to fall away from their neck. The student sat up and clutched their head, appearing to be quite confused as to how they ended up on the ground. Standing up, they spied the silver amulet laying atop the blood stained snow.
