Hogwarts Mafia Round 2 Lynch: Pushing Forward

Hogwarts :: Library :: Angelina, Lynch mob

Angelina leaned over her parchment and tapped her quill on the edge of the table, considering the list of students in front of her. As a prefect and presumptive head girl, she was taking it upon herself to set up a rotation of student patrols to counteract the recent tragedies.

The problem being…who could be trusted?

Deeply engrossed in her logistical problem solving, she was startled to realize a small group of students had gathered nearby, and one was hesitantly approaching her with a note. She gave the student a moment to speak before finally taking the initiative.

“What do you need?”

The student looked toward the group, then back at Angelina. “Er…you’re wanted in the Astronomy Tower.”

Angelina frowned and pushed her long black hair over one shoulder. “As you can see I’m quite busy here. Is it important?”

The student nodded vigorously. “Oh yes. Professor Sinistra asked to speak with you specifically.”

Sighing to herself, Angelina began to gather her things together and followed the student out of the library, noticing out of the corner of her eye that the rest were tailing close behind.

“Alright. I’m here. Where is Professor Sinistra?”

The group looked shiftily at their feet until one finally said, softly, “Well…she doesn’t seem to be here. Maybe while you wait for her we can…talk.”

Angelina nodded in agreement, thinking that this was as good a time as any to discuss patrols and safety measures. “Very well. I’ve made up a list and organized you all into pairs. We’ll work in shifts…” she reached behind her to pull the piece of parchment out of her bag, then stepped back in alarm when someone took it out of her hand. How rude!

“You aren’t…” the parchment-thief began, “…running this meeting. You see, we’ve been doing some planning of our own.”

Angelina blinked, looking from one face to the next, but spoke in a calm, clear voice. “Well. That’s all fine and well and I’m glad to hear you’ve been thinking on your own, but I’m a prefect and this is my responsibility, so if you don’t mind…”

“Oh. But we do mind.”

Throwing up her hands, Angelina raised her voice, her tone becoming sharper. “What on earth are you going on about? Give me back my parchment. Now.”

Another student stepped forward. “No. We’re not going to let you get away with this! We’re not going to let you hurt anyone else! We’re taking matters into our own hands now.”

“Hurt anyone else! That’s….that’s preposterous, now stop this at once! Ten points from each of your houses!”

“Take all the points you want. It doesn’t matter; you’re still not leaving this tower by way of the stairs.”

Angelina took another step back, becoming just slightly nervous now. “You…can’t –do- this to me. I’m going to be head girl!”

The mob, however, had stopped listening to her at this point, instead speaking to each other.

“Are we doing this or not? Let’s move before someone interferes.”

With that, the group moved as one to surround Angelina, grab her by the arms and legs, and with a slight backswing for momentum, toss her out the Astronomy tower window.

They scattered as Angelina’s final screams echoed off the castle battlements, and by the time her wailing form crashed onto the flagstones, the tower was completely empty.
