Hogwarts Mafia Round 6 /ooc

I tend to agree with Vulash on this one. I almost changed my vote last night but left it on Poppy because I suspected her from the beginning. I think Emeraude is mafia.

Also, I'd bold the line about her socks. Maybe it's just me, but "put a sock in it!" from a previous scene could be witticism, or it could be pointing to one of the only two people who specifically mention socks in their bios (the other was Rorri to say that she prefers stockings instead of socks).

The machine that lets me edit is in the room where my tot is sleeping, but you are right about the sock. The search feature is our friend.

Well, I'm damn close to giving up because the evidence against me is just silly at this point.

Does it not occur to anyone that the references listed by Pooka above are a bit of a stretch?

Let me do my best to deflect them as best I can, since it is counterproductive for me not to do so. I will attempt to draw parallels to the only person whose bio has similarities with my own. This is based on Pooka's hints at me listed above:

1. You bolded my french braid... the student who was just killed was French. You don't think that's a BIT weak for an argument? It's pretty damn difficult to write a mafia hit on a French student without using some kind of reference to french, don't you think? I find it pretty suspect that you're drawing on that.

2. Gryffindor. The broom was directed back at the Gryffindor. I really don't think that holds any water as a clue either. It's just describing the broom's target, who was Raven, a Gryffindor student. You cannot write a decent paragraph and refer to the object of it with the same word every time; this is purely literary. Also not really a clue, imo.

3. Transfiguration. A valid clue, as it keeps popping up. Vudu's favorite subject is also transfiguration, may I remind you.

4. Charms. Also a valid clue, unless you take into account that (by the books) the charms used thus far have been charms that every single student learns at Hogwarts. There's been nothing special about them to suggest otherwise.

5. Beater. Yes, I am aware that I am a beater. I've pointed out why I don't particularly think the student services trophy thing was a clue directed towards me. 1, I'm not mafia. And 2, the fact that it was a student services trophy (and someone else pointed out earlier) one that indicated that whoever wielded it also had posession of it (ie, it was their trophy, which is correct... the grammar used heavily implies that the person who was holding it also owned it), was far more accurately interpreted as a clue. The broom-beating from today, well, not sure what to say about that. Seems to me if you're gonna kill someone with a broomstick then a whack on the head would be a lot more effective than say, shoving it up their ass. These are suspicious clues, sure, but not really enough to bet the farm on when we need our townies alive and kicking.

6. Toads. Again a valid clue, but Vudu and I both mention toads in our bios. And regardless of why or how it got into Vudu's bio, it's still in there. Given the length of his bio, it's gotta be hard to dig up clues to write on anyhow.

7. That said, I am also a little surprised that no one has picked up on the biggest clue of all, an enormous parallel between Vudu's bio and today's hit. The killer was controlling Raven's broom with a wand. Hellooooo, what's in Vudu's satchel?

8. All the above stated, I may as well add the disclaimer that "if the mafia hit me tonight, I must be right! (tm)" ... however, it behooves me to point out that the only reason I am alive now is most likely because you've all been glaring at me with beady little eyes since the beginning of this thing. I'm wounded. Really. :(

9. All the above-above-above stated, Emeraude's a guilty little brat. Hang her. :P

Man, I'm tired. I've been go-go-go the past 2 days with work, family, and school finals. I've missed a lot!

Seems kind of moot to try and defend myself with 9 votes against me (although Vulash, the alcohol/Irish thing was a REALLY FAR STRETCH, lol).

As a side note...I feel...somewhat...hollow. I' ve been trying to get Emeraude dead for so long I just don't know what to do next. :P Perhaps I'll go into piracy as the Dread Pirate Egon....or something similar.
