Hogwarts Mafia - Round 8: Mafia Hit
::Hogwarts:: North Tower Supply Room:: Dexter and mafia ::
With the continued deaths going on nightly, Dexter was starting to feel a cramp in his lifestyle; for some unfathomable reason girls just didn't want to go off to the north tower supply room for a extra curricular activity despite the use of his best lines.
Figures... and he had been hoping to reach his goal of dating one from each of the four houses over the holidays. It would be more difficult, one might not even call it 'dating' exactly but snogging with the intent to date, but Dexter liked a challenge.
He'd had his eye on one of the Ravenclaw prefects but it turned out she was interested in one of the more geeky members on their house. Dexter rolled his eyes and wondered at the mystery that was woman. He was smart AND cool why would you go for some socially backward guy who thought anything outside of the library was foreign territory?
Dexter brought out his runes and cast them there on the floor in an attempt to find out more about this situation and put a stop to the killings once and for all...so he could get back to his regularly scheduled make out sessions.
Looking down at the layout of the runes, the Ravenclaw jumped backwards in alarm.
"What? but...that makes no sense!"
A second more in depth reading showed that nothing had changed. They were coming for him. His death was spelled out in the stones laying there on the floor. Dexter was sure he did not have much time and could almost imagine the sounds of people storming up the stairs sounding like a muggle football team in full gear.
Calm down.. yes... He just had to think. A protective circle would repel anything they could throw at him, that would work. Good thing he was actually paying attention that day in class and not totally flirting with that Gryffindor chick in the second row.
Finding some appropriate runes from the ones still in his bag, Dexter set them out in a circle around him and began chanting the words to begin construction of the magic circle.

"Look I'm pretty sure I saw one of them up here in the storage room."
"Why would anyone keep something that dangerous just laying about?"
"Did you forget where you are? This is the same place that once used a three headed giant dog to guard a trap door."
"Ah, good point...Who's that?"
The group had entered the storage room to find a student in a circle of blue glowing stones, holding his wand before him and chanting feverishly.

Dexter's eyes flew open as the door banged against the wall. Just a few more seconds and the spell would be complete. He watched the group but did not dare stop the chant.
"Well, well, all alone? I am truly surprised."
"What are we going to do with him?"
"Whatever it is it better be quick or he'll get that spell off."
"Oh, well that's all you had to say."
Dexter's eyes widened as one of the students picked up a mace from the hands of a rusted suit of armor and chucked it straight at his head. He hadn't thought of that.

The group stepped over the bloody corpse and looked down at the runes.
"Hmm guess sometimes the signs aren't always that vague after all."
