Yuletime Yearning A poem

heh wasnt able to sleep at all last night, So I decided to try and write something. Tried to write something uplifting to send my Mom for Christmas, but instead These words found me:

The Snow falls and the sky is dark,
Time for this year’s final spark
Its you I miss standing next to me,
The one who’s always been there, by the tree.

The holiday cheer, I find lacking this year,
Your absence is hurting me more, I fear.
My Love, so impossibly hard to express,
I wish I could do more than just egress.

Bound by myself, I know not why,
These tears of loneliness I cannot cry.
These emotions I wish I could just Ignore,
Like an Annoying alarm, just hit the snore.

Change, something I’ve never taken well,
Chained to the past in which I dwell.
I must rise above and continue my life,
Time to bring an end to the inner strife.

Though we are many miles apart,
I can still feel the beat of your heart.
I will be with you this year in spirit,
My Mother, The gracious spirit.

The Snow falls and the sky is dark,
time for this year’s final spark
Its You I miss standing next to me,
The one who’s always been there, by the tree.
