King Kong

I haven't seen it yet...going Saturday. How was it?

It was good. This definitely isnt your parents or grandarents' King Kong. Peter Jackson did a really good job, but to me there were two problems.

1. He still hasnt figured out how to make a movie less than 3 hours. I didnt know it was going to be that long and we had tickets for the 10:25 showing last Friday. Of course, it started late too so we rolled out of the theatre at 1:45.

2. The first hour is slllllllllloooooooowwwwwwwwwww.

Other than that, its a great film. Special effects were good. Cinematography is always great with his films. Lots of action once you finally get to skull island.

Well, I knew it was 3 hours, and because of that I pretty much expected some slowness. I usually sleep through about 15 minutes of the first part of a movie anyway, so I guess this one will work out well for me :o

Ok -- I saw this over the weekend, along with Harry Potter, Rumor Has It, and Munich.

The first hour of King Kong was longer than necessary, though I loved the set designs, and think it should definitely get an Oscar nod for those. I also liked the additional background he added for the main characters, but he could have knocked 30 minutes off easy.

My thoughts exactly. I just hope the movie makes a lot of $$$ because he is definitely a good director and its good to see him getting the big films.

Hey, NO SPOILERS cuz I want to be surprised at the ending.

LOL, obviously the story has been told before several times. While the ending wasn't anything new...Skull island is definitely different...

I heard the Ape dies at the end.

you should...the set designs are awesome and probably won't transfer to tv as well.

Yeah, Addi. This is definitely one of those movies you want to see on the big screen rather than at home.

A lot of people complain about pacing, but the second time I saw this film, it flew by. Good flick, overall.

I can see why this didn't do well. It's a great movie but it takes too long to get into the meat of it. Great job by Naomi Watts but best actor to the CGI team that did king kong's expressions. That was just stunning.

Oh and the t-rex fight part was fucking awesome.

Good Movie.
