Let me say that screenshot manips ARE A PAIN IN THE ASS, but very rewarding =D There is no crying when asking for c/c so I'm gonna sandwich it up.
Cutting out screenshots is beyond annoying and you did a great job separating them. There are a few tips though in getting good screenshots.
1. Get screenshots out in the open during Norrath mid day. Your gamma won't help at all and doing shots doing the day and in front of a solid object will give you the best resolution to work with.
2. Resolution - turn everything on, level of detail, the whole tea and crumpets. Again this helps with getting good clean shots. It always helps when 1 & 2 are done, in preventing the discoloration of shadows on the skin tone. You got it on Kwina's cheek. Unless you know a lot of skin tone, which I admit I sure as shit don't, redoing skin is beyond frustrating. So get the best type of shot you can get.
3. Balance and composition - most sigs shouldn't be bigger than say 400x200 although 450x250 is good. You've got this small space to work with so balancing your text is important. So is avoiding negative space. Scriptina is the prettiest god durn font ever, but it's over used. Like adi said, dafont.com is your friend. There are thousands of fonts out there, try them all. I've spent hours just playing with text.
4. Hair - took me 2 years and all I have to say is practice by looking at references. Dodge and burn helps create depth and texture (if you're using PS) not sure what they're called in PSP.
5. Good job with your first. I can't even tell you how bad my first was. What helped me a lot was looking at other screen shot manip sigs. Peruse through the 2d and check out the sigs there. It can give you a good idea of how to balance a sig and it helps to see progression as well. Everyone gets better with next.
