Good News for XP Home Users

Looks like you wont have to worry about upgrading to Vista until 2008 and XP Pro users will have a couple more years after that. Im happy they are doing this because I just had my mom buy XP home when I did her upgrade.
Personally Im looking forward to Vista for real 64 bit driver support. I have a copy of XP 64 at home and have been wrestling with installing it but I know some of my hardware does not have 64 bit drivers yet.
Just thought I would pass this along.

I need to do a real wipe and reinstall at some point soon. I may brave the XP 64 install. Im thinking ill test the theory first by digging up an old hard drive and doing an install on it to see how it goes. I did find out that my wireless NIC does have XP64 drivers for it and that was the only thing I was worried about. Im not sure how well nero/turbo tax/dvd shrink and a couple of other apps will run and those are what I use that machine for primarily I will have to wait for a weekend my grilfriend is out of town she's not too hip when I let my nerdly persuits get in the way of our personal time.
It's been running crash free for several years now. Xp Pro that is.
