Possibilities that I've uncovered in my own problem with this (I was picking up local police and emergency channels :( )
Speaker cable not connected to port fully
Sound card (if seperate part) not connected to motherboard correctly
Speakers have been dropped one too many times
audio problem
i set my speakers up and its picking up a local radio station. I can hear my computer sounds faintly in the background of the radio station but when i try to play music it doesnt work at all.
i dont know if there is a fix to this? Its a rap station too >_<

If you can use the volumn knob to tune the local police broadcasts, I highly recommend shouting back into the speakers about someone being shot, and see what sort of confusion you can cause.
Otherwise, whats happening is that you have a piece of copper wire which connects in your computer and carries a signal to your speakers. You also have a a piece of copper wire that connects your speakers to the copper wire in your home which carries electricity. Now what does this have to do with a local rap station?
Copper wire is the same exact thing they use in antenna's. Basically you have poorly insulated wire either in the power source or to your computer, and your set up is acting like a big antenna. I would recommend looking into a well grounded power strip, uninterruptable powersupply, or a power surge protector with electrical cleaning for one, to reduce interference coming from the power source, and I would look into a new pair of speakers, as your current set seem to have some issues with insulation on your wiring. Get a good set that has little back ground static.
That should solve your issue.
