I got a little teary eyed at this too. The basketball part of it reminded me very much of Hoosiers...I think that movie might be older than me...in any case, it was well done.
Even though I'm not all that interested in sports, for some reason I'm just a -sucker- for sports movies. I guess I like the romantic stuff and don't want to have to watch an excessive amount of...you know, actually -playing- to see the good parts.

Wow, what can I say. I was a little reticent about this movie, since I don't like sports movies in general, so I hit play with a cynical air.
It is a movie with basketball in it, not a movie about basketball. The story focuses on the boys and the coach, on their struggles, and fears. It is heart-warming and a time or two funny.
I haven't cried during a movie in a long time and several parts, brought tears to my eyes. If you like stories of triumph and determination, this will be a new favorite.
Definitely worth the rent.
