Elizabethtown

Oddly enough I enjoyed it.

It is really slow, and Kirsten Dunst's character is a loony, but it's a cute story and would be good to watch with older kiddos.

Wow, I just adored this movie :D. I thought the dude was wonderfully charming and absolutely loved the one cousin.

When Orlando Bloom (who I surprisingly very much liked in this role) came to Elizabethtown and started offering his condolences to everyone...I think that was the part where his character really clicked for me. And when his sister said he didn't have any friends. I didn't think the romance was as important or as interesting as just watching this guy's story, and how he interacts with this collection of freaks. I think the freak factor, the weird random things that are somehow totally believeable, just kind of add to the charm. I mean, a guy wants to commit suicide and instead of jumping off a building...he creates a death mobile out of his exercise bike. And the video they made the kids watch...even the giant bird prop catching fire and the tap dancing somehow wasn't over the top.
