I did the dishes. And then he did the dishes. Then we had Catherine.

A few years ago, this guy I liked, but hadn't started dating yet, started leaving roses on my car every morning. We worked together and were living out of town in the same apartment complex. Every morning for about two weeks I'd go out to my car and find a different colored rose...it was quite a lovely way to start off the day.

to be honest, i can't think of a single thing that would qualify, which would probably explain why i'm single.
my brother setup this whole weekend thing for his wife's birthday that i thought was incredibly sweet ~ out of town, fancy hotel the whole nine yards. she was in 7th heaven for weeks afterward. i think the trick, though, was that it was something she had been wanting to do for so long and circumstances didn't allow it. he was paying attention and when he was able to do it, he did. i think that was the key...

I don't know that it was romantic exactly but it was sweet. Mike kept promising we'd go camping for this weekend get away and he kept putting off getting the reservations. Finally we both take the time off and he decides to call....only to find they have no cabins left at all. So we were stuck with time off and no camping.
While I was at work he moved all the furniture out of the living room and set up the two man tent. Got the sounds of the woods cd and even called a friend and borrowed this little electric fire. So we had what I have since called "environmentally controlled" camping. It was a nice surprise and hey, camping with indoor plumbing is a plus!

Oh for my birthday Mike called me up and was like, 'oh i'm going to lunch.' So i ask does he want to maybe do lunch, cuz you know, it's my birthday and all. He says, 'no, i'm already home.' So i shrug and let it go.
15 mins he's walking in my office door.
HOW CUTE IS THAT?!!

imo the most romantic thing i've done was order sushi for martiny on his birthday, he can't get it within 90 miles of him so I called about 13 errands companies and none would run the errand of transporting sushi an 1hour and a half away, they thought I was insane, one elderly couple called me back and reconsidered, I was exstatic I said ok here's my credit card, they are a mom and pop shop and had no electronic means to receive payment =/ and the next day was his birthday, so they on blind faith did the delivery that I would mail them a money, they even recommended a place. So on his birthday he got a special delivery of his favorite food that he doesn't have easy access to.
The bummer was he was bummed to receive sushi in a landlocked state, but he noddend and grinned nicely because he was appreciative of the effort.
