Not really PC

I was cleaning today and dropped my cell phone into a bucket of water....so i had to go buy a new one. So I bought a Sanyo 7500 and it does like lots of stuff and I know nothing about phones. My sprint operator said to me "dont you know any teenagers" when I asked him about downloading ringtones and videos and songs for my phone. So I figured I would ask here, anyone know where I can download this stuff for free?

So...it's not really free. /ponder

Seven bucks a year is closer to free than nineteen bucks a month, or three bucks a ringtone.

In any case, the reason I haven't investigated free sites too closely is the few I found were not compatible with my Sprint service or Sanyo phone. My phone only allows MIDI, and none of the -phonic tones.

Of course, this was 3-4 years ago. Times they a-change, so it very well may be different now.

OH? There are free places for the polyphonic ring tones???

The question I have to ask is...Why?

I don't see the sense in using any but the standard ringtones that are available on your phone already. If you are deaf enough that you can't figure out if its your phone that is ringing then you need to invest in some other type of listening device.

Eh....whot sonny?!

i like em cuz if say im up on scaffolding and i have a certain ringtone set to a certain person I know i dont have to fumble around to answer it ,that it can wait. The ringers that come with the phone, although fun arent very distictive in sound and when u have a radio going etc u need something that really stands out. What im more interested in though is my music, i have that music on the go and even though I have an ipod would be alot easier to listen to it on my phone, im just not sure how it works, i downloaded one song from my sprint store but the only way i can listen to it is the connect the web and i know there is another way to store them to my phone just cant figure it out. I also heard there is software for each phone type that is capable where u can take teh music off your computer and put it on your phone, kinda like how i have transfer my videos and pictures from my phone to my computer.

They're boring?

They are boring, AND I have specific tones assigned to specific people...letting me know if I need to rush to answer at any given time, or can wait and call back...very important things here! ;-)

Okay, the better question is why would you waste money on this? I mean it isn't like you'll be listening to the ringer for a long time. *Ring ring* Oh its Bob *Bing Bong* Oh its Tracey.

I guess I have a somewhat more negative outlook on people who have a goofy ringtone, especially in a professional environment. I guess not only do I find it rude to have someone check their phone when I'm talking to them in a semi-professional setting, but to have some silly ringtone is even worse.

Yeah he wasn't impressed with my Mission Impossible ringtone, although my mother loved it =D

First off...it's not much, cost wise. Second, I don't have to even open my phone if I'm in a conversation with someone else, if I don't want to. by the ring tone I can reach into my purse and just click it off. if its someone I want to talk to, then I can. I don't have the phone even on if in a business setting. whoever calls me on my phone is not calling for business, so Im certainly not going to talk to them if I'm busy with real business.

(My mom is 'Mama Mia', by Abba :P I'm a dork, yea, I know.)

I agree with Vebran, I've spent like a stupid amount of money on my $300 phone that is also a camcorder / and blah blah blah but the ringtones are all stupid and there are zero games! wtf? that much money i should at least get tetris! now i have to buy that seperate as a download, cell phones have become a money pit, and the cell phone industry is sucking us dry. my cell phone bill used to be $30 a month but now with texting and unlimited pic mail its $75, im such a dork for falling into this consumer trap. =(
