when you don't feed cows to cows, cows don't get mad cow disease.

We buy grain fed beef, for that reason. It's a bit more expensive per pound, but I don't have to worry about mad cow disease, growth hormones and e.coli

I just prefer veganism! Of course since I have freaky food allergies and IBS anyways its much better for me personally to be vegan. Come to the carrot side Roz! ;)

You know what doesn't make sense to me? Carrot cake. It just seems so wrong. =(

Actually carrots are a very very sweet veggie. They grate up into a cake beautifully. But then, I like zuchinni bread too. ;)

A well made carrot cake is the bomb.

carrots are basically sugar sticks with some fiber and beta carrotine thrown in to keep them from melting in the rain. they shouldn't count as vegetables.

grass fed is better than grain fed, but anything's better than brain fed.

I am a big fan of simple foods. Whole grains like brown rice, millet, amarath, bulgar, barley and quinoa are good. Simple veggies that are not boiled to brown ooze but instead steamed or sauted till tender but still crisp. Tofu, tempeh and seitan rather than processed foods.

Yea I have had all of 2 hamburgers (Drunk and hungry) and 1 steak in the past 15 years. I eat a ton of fish, chicken, turkey and pork(ocassionally). I eat brown rice and lots of veggies. Ive been in a high protien, high carb, low dairy, low fat diet for many years. I had a doctor that beat it in to my head when I was a kid that red meat and fried food are really bad for you.

Ive actually given up coffee again. I drink green tea all day now which I love anyway.

Beef owns. Mad Cow is alarmist bullshit.

So yeah, theres no way in hell I could ever give up beef. I'm not talking just fast food burgers, since I mostly eat the barbequed variety (home made).

And yes, I live in Alberta.

Good plan. Although, I'd worry less about the amount of fat and more about the type. Good, natural saturated fat is good for you, provided it comes from plant sources like coconuts.
