My Dad

I am posting because I feel like right now my dad needs as much prayer and warm thoughts as he can get.

My Step-mom called me tonight to tell me my dad is in the hospital. He had some kind of eipisode that as caused him to forget the last year or so of his life.

They suspected he'd had a stroke and so performed an MRI and CT, both are clear and show no signs of trama or abnormality. They have run numerous tests and plan to run more, as of now, however, they do not know why he can't remember anything nor why there is a tremor in his right leg.

He is confused and scared and just wants to go home. My dad is a strong man, a horse farmer and a sweet and gentle soul. He has been through a lot the past five years with knee surgeries, back surgery and arthritis that has stolen his ability to walk. He has overcome and perservered through it all.

I ask that your prayers be for healing for him and wisdom for the doctors treating him. His name is Ken.

I'll keep you posted on what the doctors say as I get the information, being three states away from him is very very hard right now.

Tell him he signed everything over to you last october, and he doesn't have a house anymore. If he says something like, "the HELL I did," he's faking.

Seriously, though, I wish him well. That's a strange thing to have happen.

Best of luck to you and your family. We lost 3 in a year and 2 of those in a week in my family in a week this year so I can sympathize.

My dad called me this morning. He sounds better, but still weak and not well. Diane says they still don't know what's wrong, or why he's lost this chunk of his memory. They've given him something for aggitation that has stopped the tremor in his leg and he's feeling calmer. They will be following up with several doctors for more tests.

I pray that they find a reason for this so that it can be prevented from happening again. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Father God, hallowed be your name, I pray for Ken and his recovery, I pray Lord for healing of all his ailments, from his physical, mental,and emotional, I pray for Diane to be a loving dutiful wife during this time, I pray for Sarah to feel close to her father regardless the distance, I ask that you hold them all in your arms and may they feel you near, I ask this of you my loving father in Jesus name. He can remember every day since the incident. He's home now and his dog just had puppies so he's got something happy going for him right now.
