I worked really hard on her.. tried to watch my lines... shading.. texture.. UGh.. i don't even want to mention how many hours I put into this.. (try weeks =P )

Anyway.. I'm really proud of her.. I'm still learning.. CC maybe a level 2 not exactly ready for jumping from the frying pan into the fire yet..

Very cool, Besame. Few things that jumped out at me:

Her hair starting from the crown looks great. Those brushes are pretty damn cool. It does get pixeled at the bottom, not sure why but smudging it on a real soft setting with help clear that. If your hair is on a separate layer, consider using a hard small brush on high intesity and wisping the ends.

The folds look great. You can tell you took the time to really work on the shadows and it paid off. The only thing that occured to me is - there's no shape of her butt underneath the folds. I mean, wouldn't there be or maybe not if she doesn't have a booty.

You have a lot of pixeling along her arms, i'd try smudging those out to give it a roundness. Her ears are pretty small, they look more like puppy ears. I'd make those bad boys longer and shade the edges.

Very nice, big improvement from the first one. :thumbsup

Also I'd like to comment on your request for c/c - we don't do the levels like NS here. We're not going to filet you if you're wanting good and sound criticism. It is possible to be descriptive in c/c without being a shit. What I just gave you isn't c/c2 by NS's standards, but I hope it was clear, concise and helpful. That's what we aim for here at TAC. Most people here will c/c you. Period. If you post defensive, nothing we say is going to be helpful since you'll probably take it in an insulting light. No one wants to tear you down, we just want to help. =)

Thanks for the reply.. sorry for putting the NS standards.. old habits die hard =p

I don't think i'm defensive (unless i'm having a particularly bad day =p).. and i appreciate all cc.. i'm just not looking for extreme yet.. I don't want to lose the motivation if I have some to keep trying something new..

I'll try fixing what you mentioned.. and see if i can make it come out a little better..

As always.. thank you =)

I just want to add. Do not get discouraged with having people c/c'ing your art. You want to improve right? Everyone started somewhere, it it surely wasn't very high on the ladder. And also remember, not all c/c needs to be followed. Some things are style issues. If you like X done Y way, then by all means, keep doing it that way.

TAC is about helping people grow as artists, so just keep that in mind. Don't EVER get discouraged because you will only cripple your growth. I know reading a post where someone outlined some 5+ things thats wrong with your picture is overwhelming, but take little bites. You dont have to master everything at once.

Also, I highly suggest flipping through tutorials in our resource archive, and even searching deviantart for drawing techniques. Just reading thru those and mimicking exactly what they're teaching will help you a lot.

I find myself studying shadows and highlights and folds in everyday life to help my 'artist sense' improve. don't limit yourself to just one reference photo. If you're trying to do draped fabric, look for a lot of draped fabric pics, just to see the differences. Look beyond "a person standing there" and look at the shades of the highlights/shadows and folds, the bends, and other minute details. It should help alot when it comes to painting fabrics and people from scratch.

I figured I would post here instead on pn dA - I agree on the hair what was said above, a bit of smudging on the ends would work and perhaps a bit of shadow on the back from the hair will work too. I love the intensity of the hair color :)

Nodnod what they said, the only thing that really did jump put at me was the arms tho ;)
