I think what's throwing it off, is the darker colors on the bird look like shadows to me anyway. Gorgeous pic, but yeah I can see why something's botherin' ya. :(

God dang that's a beautiful texture on her outfit. I like the bottom one for the darker background but the lighting on her is too bright. If you can mix the lighting on the top with the background lighting of the bottom, I think it'll help.

do you think maybe if I go in with the dodge brush and hit some of those darker feathers it would help? / Maybe go in and colorize it a light blue and layer/erase areas?.. lol The bird is bending me outta shape >(
I can add the darkness to the top one and keep her face/bod the same as it was Np :) I'll work on it now, Thanks guys

What I would do is use that brighter blue color, set to a low opacity, and just brush some highlights on the darker feathers. It just needs something to make it discernable as feathers and not shadows is all.

I love the colors and composition on this one. Just the already mentioned touch ups on the feathers and this will be one awesome piece.

changed lighting bird texture and painted some feather textures in it.. better , worse. maybe I should just go with the natural hawk then silly fantasy type bird sinc eI suck at them so much heh?

maybe I should move the tree on the right either out of the picture or over more out of the picture?
and put the 1st or 2nd bird back in ? lol *bangs head on desk*

The recent one seems too bright and a little pixeled. The second from the bottom, I think, is the best.

i like the one you posted ~ it felt more balanced. nothing popped out ~ i saw the whole picture, not an aspect of it.
