V for Vendetta

Previews and promos look really good.. I'm curious what anyone who saw it thinks??

we saw this this weekend. I really liked it! I think it is a good plot, there are a couple points where I was a little skeptical of people's actions seeming less realistic and more just to keep the plot moving (i won't be specific so no spoilers) but it isn't bad enough to ruin the movie IMO.

From an entertainment value point of view it is really good, great visuals and rich color choices, good use of darkness so it has an impact on screen. (We did watch it at an IMAX theatre so it was great! Big booms!) The score they used is great, and the parallels that can be drawn from a certain movie they watch during it are subtle but I picked them up. And I totally believed Natalie was crying while they shaved her head.

This is also a really good look at the importance of maintaining freedoms and not letting the government get too much power. It has a lot of relevance to events today IMO and makes some good political statements without being Michael Moore level in your face about it. Some people may agree with the stances taken by the British government but you can see what happens when those beliefs are taken to an extreme. It will make you think, and appreciate some of the freedoms we have, and the ability to choose our lifestyles that Americans enjoy. I'll step off the soapbox now =)

All in all it was worth the money to see it

I don't know why but I've always found mass graves of naked chicks pretty sexy.

So i'm slow and dont see things until they come out on video or to the 2$ show.

What year is this movie taking place? Present day or the future? My kid did spend 2 hours screaming through the movie and i'll watch it again but i felt lost as to pin point when it is! They make references to the 2000's so i know that. But i think someone says 2015 they get kidnapped and that was 10 years ago...but then i see anti BUSH signs when they show vids of usa. So confused.

Isn't it one possible future set now?

I liked it as well. It's got some cheese factor but its worth renting.

I guess I'm the only one that didn't think this was that great of a movie. I was expecting so much more. It was interesting, but nothing I really care to see again.

GEts better after you seen it once too lol ... Dont remember how many time si have seen it now .. lol

I STILL haven't seen it.

I said I wouldn't see it until I finished reading the comic, so I'm holding off.

Weve had it for a few days from Netflix, but were halfway through Invasion - so must finish .. .first ... aah!
