Life's wicked curve

On March 17, my father passed away very suddenly from a massive heart attack. Needless to say, it's taken me this long to get my head above water and be able to start doing my artwork again.

I had been working with him on a new background for his website http://pappyspoems.home.insightbb.com (which isn't completed yet) as well as developing new graphics to go with more of his poems. I have 2 of the prints displayed here on DA - Angel Kisses and A Soldier's Memory

While us kids were going through some of his things, we literally found hundreds more poems. We are going to try our best to get them all pulled together to get them published as well as get more prints developed. We will also be keeping his website going.

In the week following his passing, we realized there is no way his family is ever going to meet even half of the people whose lives he touched through his poetry. We found so many poems written on little scrap pieces of paper for specific people that we had never even heard of.

One last note on my father, he always said that he did not want people to mourn his passing. He wanted people to celebrate his life. And he has passed on his poetry to all who read it so that his memory will live on. Dad, thank you for this wonderful gift that you have passed on to us. We salute you! *raises her cup of coffee*
