School cancels classes due to nice weather

Apr. 25, 2006 08:35 AM BELLINGHAM, Wash. - Instead of enduring a day of inattention and spring fever, Bellingham Christian School declared a "sun day" and gave everyone the day off.
School administrators had told the students there would be no school on the first sunny day that hit at least 63 degrees. After Monday's forecast called for a high of 65, school was closed. The mercury actually hit 68, the National Weather Service reported.
Students were told to return on Tuesday when the forecast called for rain.
No one answered the phone at the school on Monday, although the recorded message said school had been canceled due to the nice weather. Messages left at the school and on the administrator's home phone were not returned.

I'd be curious to know how normal attendance is at that school. If that is the inventive way they run things there, I'd hope it would be reflected in pupils as bright as the admin.
